I am terribly sorry for all the delay, but unexpectedly the last month, especially last two weeks, have been really hectic for me, and I had quite a pile of other duties to fulfil before I could sit and really think and judge the entries.

The first place goes to:
Ysidro's Dream by EpicSkiFreak

The second place goes to:
Loners Need to be Alone by Sedillio

The third place goes to:
Follow me now by blowber

Congratulations to the winners!

It turned out I can’t really judge, because I loved all the entries, some were better and some less better, but in the end I just couldn’t discard some people into ‘no prize’ basket. And because there were only three more contestants in this category, if I’m not mistaken, then I think they too should get something for all the wonderful work they’ve shown. Plut I really feel guilty of making all of you wait for so long, so I think it’s only fair to offer some more consolation prizes.

So all the contestants are asked to comment under this journal with a character you'd like me to draw. Just don't send any notes to me or to this group, please. I would prefer to have everything here, where I can find it easily.

And about the writing theme.... Well... There were only two entries, so I think it’s not enough to even qualify this theme.

I have a question but I don't know where to put it. Should I ask it here or in a note?
PatiLee Featured By Owner Jul 22, 2014
I don't think it matters.
Just go ahead and ask.

Okay I just a have couple questions. I'm sorry if this is a annouyance in any way, I was wanting to make some fan characters but when these questions popped up I wasn't to sure on what to do or how to answer them.

If a person wanted to make a fan character but couldn't draw well on the art program(s) they had, would they be able to use a free domestic dog lineart from DA so long as it's properly credited and doesn't go against the original artist rules?

Are fan characters with handicaps and/or some sort of disability allowed as long as they have a valid reason on why they have it?

I had another question about albino colors in fan characters but it got scraps for the extreme hot weather and how they wouldn't last very long. Thank you for taking the time in reading my questions. c:

I don't think there are any special rulesconcerning character creation, so I believe using a lineart is okay as long as it's credited. Same goes for disabilities. It's your character, so it depends on you how you want it to look like or behave.

So any character would be fine as long as it's not really out of place. Like for example... It's not a pink sparkle woof with flowing long hair or a characterstylized after some theme other tan Wild West or just w dog with robotic leg. So I think the only requirement is that the character should fit the theme of the group and the general world rules that Skailla described in one of her journals.

So we are allowed to create our own fan characters for Up and Ahead?
PatiLee Featured By Owner Jul 9, 2014
Of course!
There's even a template for that!
